Help
The LocalTies Network is a private, vetted network of professionals, public figures, athletes and local business owners, with a chapter in each city. This guide explains how it works and how to use the website.
A free account
Anyone can make a free account: sign up with your email address, confirm it from the link we email you, then verify your mobile number with the code we text you. See Creating your account.
A free account shows your first and last name, title, company and state, and only to people logged in to the site. It is never public, and search engines never see it. With it you can browse your chapter's public member directory and events, and apply for membership.
Membership
Membership is by application, and every applicant is vetted:
- Apply from your account, to your city's chapter. See Applying for membership.
- A short call. If your application moves forward, someone from the chapter calls you for 20 to 30 minutes.
- The committee decides. The chapter's committee meets every week.
- Your offer. If you're accepted, we email you a private offer with a payment link. It's open for a limited time. See Your offer.
Members manage their own membership in their account: see Your membership and billing.
What members can do
Depending on their membership, members can:
- find each other in the member directory and see full profiles;
- message each other, once the other member accepts;
- post and answer asks and offers;
- join circles around an industry or interest;
- RSVP to events and bring guests;
- ask our team for curated introductions;
- use perks from partner businesses.
A page that isn't part of your membership shows what it offers, locked.
